So the fun part about this flight is that around midnight we’ll be seeing the sun rise. Can’t really say I’ve ever seen that before but it’ll be really cool. Hopefully it’ll make up for the fact that I was unable to finish watching the UConn game past the middle of the second quarter. Unfortunately the airlines don’t have wifi, so for now I’m left with whatever movies, shows, games, and music are on the little screen in front of me. Or I can just stare at the flight map, because that’s always such a thrilling activity. It took about 45 minutes before we were able to take off so we’re a bit behind schedule but it looks like the flight will take less than the six and a half hours it’s supposed to have been. As of now it looks like we’re still going to arrive relatively close to on time despite our delay. How that works, well I’m not entirely sure, but I guess it does. It’s too dark outside to take any pictures and I have enough common sense to not use my flash so we’ll see how that all goes. I want to sleep but I don’t want to miss the sunrise that will be happening soon. I might just watch Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and see where the sun is at the end of that. To the person sitting in front of me, I’m so very sorry for the fact that I keep pushing your seat forwards. The touch screens aren’t very responsive and I realize I keep pushing against it kind of hard. Well this is it for now. I’m going to watch the movie and apparently we’re getting “dinner” soon. I’ll probably write more later.
Dinner wasn’t bad considering that it was airplane food. It’s completely pitch black outside but the movie was amazing! According to the map we only have about four and a half more hours to go so since the sun is still down enough that I can’t see it I guess I’ll try to take a short nap before we land.
So I’m in Dublin now. Most of the group was all on the same flight and we met up at the baggage claim and went from there. We are still waiting on one more person to get here so we’re in the airport and I figured I might as well update everyone on how things are going. It’s so unreal that I’m here right now and I’m not entirely sure that it has completely hit me just yet. It is much colder here than it was back home, so it’ll be all sorts of fun to go outside. I did exchange some of my cash for euros and then proceeded attempt to use them and then realized I probably should have read all the coins before doing so. I pulled out the coins, looked at them and then the lady told me which ones to use. I feel a little dumb for that, but hey, it’s a learning experience. I’ve gotten to know a few more of the people in our group and we found out that today is pretty much a free day for us, which is nice. We’re already trying to figure out what we’re all going to do in our free time and honestly all I can say is that we have destinations but we’re basically wandering around the closest town to us. From the plane Ireland looked GORGEOUS and I can’t wait to see it all up close. This is it for now and hopefully we’ll be leaving the airport soon. I’ll upload what pictures I have from the plane as soon as I get the chance to.
With Love Always
